At the completion of this session, the participants will be able to categorize bony stress injuries by severity and risk of fracture progression.
At the completion of this session, the participants will be able to effectively communicate the site, severity, and risk level of bony stress fractures with colleagues in the field of Sports Medicine.
At the completion of this session, the participants will be able to describe the risks of continued participation despite severe, chronic, or recurrent stress fractures in elite athletes.
At the completion of this session, the participants will be able to describe the biologic treatment options available for stimulating bone healing in elite level athletes.
At the completion of this session, the participants will be able to describe the surgical procedures available for stabilization and healing of high risk stress fractures as well as their indications, risks, and benefits.

There are some people who contribute to the field of ISAKOS in significant ways that makes them stand out as pioneers, inventors, educators and even geniuses. They may influence the way we are thinking but also the way we operate, what techniques we use etc. With time and history we mostly realize how great their ideas were and we call them legends. This session will start by discussing the importance of the development of the arthroscope and surgical techniques. Thereafter the influence of a regional legend will be discussed. There are also fields closely related to the basic fields of ISAKOS enhancing our knowledge, surgical techniques etc such as Biomechanics, Biology and Bioengineering etc., which are of significant importance for the success in what we are doing. The session will finish with a discussion of examples of when the philosophy of legends of their time sometimes may be proven to be incorrect.
