The ISAKOS Congress provides a variety of new preventative, therapeutic and surgical technique information, allowing attendees to expand their knowledge and enhance their surgical skills. The five-day meeting will include a variety of educational opportunities such as surgical demonstrations, paper presentations, debates, lectures, symposia and instructional course lectures. Lunchtime sessions, e-posters, technical exhibits and social activities will also be offered to Congress attendees.

About Michael Casale, PhD

Dr. Michael Casale is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research is focused on understanding the biological underpinnings of learning and memory. His research is aimed at understanding how to best optimize training for a variety of learning situations as well as understanding how to optimize training in order to ensure maximum benefit to the learner. He has also led multi-year / multi-million dollar research projects aimed at understanding how virtual technologies can be used to facilitate the effectiveness of behavioral therapy and the brain basis underlying such processes. His work has been published dozens of times in notable peer-reviewed journals such as Memory & Cognition and the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience. At STRIVR, Dr. Casale is able to blend his academic and applied research expertise to help develop training methodologies that optimize performance using immersive technologies.

About Edwin Moses, MBA

Track & Field icon, Edwin Moses, won Olympic gold medals in 1976 and 1984, three World Cup titles, two World Championships, and broke the World Record four times as a 400-meter hurdler. He remained undefeated in 122 consecutive races spanning nine years, nine months, and nine days.

Known as The Thinking Man’s Athlete™, Moses is a physicist (Morehouse) with an MBA degree (Pepperdine). He has contributed pioneering work against the use of performance enhancing drugs at the USOC, IOC, USADA, and WADA in various capacities. Moses has cemented his place as a global sports icon through his work as Chairman of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, an association of sporting legends, which uses the positive influence of sport as a powerful tool for social change around the globe.

Edwin is the proud father to son, Julian (23), with whom he shares his affinity for the sciences and all things sports.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine. Presenter Certificates will be available for each presentation, individually. Please note, only presenting authors are listed on certificates for e-posters and scientific papers.

ISAKOS welcomes all attendees and their guests to celebrate the opening of the 12th Biennial ISAKOS Congress. The Welcome Reception is a wonderful opportunity to reunite with old friends and network with colleagues. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be provided for this festive occasion. Attendance is included in the Congress registration fee and guests are welcome to attend at no additional charge.

Spouse & Guest Program

Treat your travel companions to a daily morning coffee and pastry social at a nearby hotel, followed by a brief program highlighting a variety of interests. This is a great opportunity to connect with new and old friends while enhancing their experience in Cancun. Registration fees are $100 for the Spouse or Guest Morning Café until March 31st, and $125 after March 31st, 2019.
