The Unit of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement is integrated by three full time and one part time orthopaedic surgeons. Surgery (three theatres) is carried out two-three times per week . Patients are visited in the Outpatient clinic three times per week, under a schedule basis, and four times per week through the emergency room. One pre-surgery and one difficult case round are kept every week. The Unit is responsible for the medical care of the Unión Deportiva Las Palmas Futbol Club, the most important soccer club in the island with near 300 players, whose first team is currently playing in the Second Division of Professional Spanish League. Fellows must attend some training sessions and official games of the different categories of the club. At the same time fellows are encouraged to be involved in one of the clinical research projects being carried out permanently.

Estimate of Living Expenses (Housing and other major costs): One fellowship per year is offered with a stipend of 1200€ per month. Validated Medical Spanish License is required in order to be involved in all the clinical setting (depending on the country of origin of the applicant, to validate the license could take over one year).
