ISAKOS Godparents

Support a Colleague. Shape the Future of Our Specialty.

Become an ISAKOS Godparent

At its best, ISAKOS is a global community where knowledge is shared freely, talent is nurtured, and surgeons support one another across borders. The Godparent Program embodies this spirit of collegiality and leadership.

Talented surgeons around the world—particularly those early in their careers—often have the skill, drive, and commitment to advance orthopaedic care, but lack the financial means to fully participate in ISAKOS. The Godparent Program ensures that financial barriers do not stand in the way of opportunity.

What It Means to Be a Godparent

Becoming an ISAKOS Godparent is a personal investment in another surgeon’s future, and in the future of orthopaedic medicine worldwide.
Through the generosity of Godparents, eligible surgeons under the age of 45 who demonstrate financial need may receive:

  • Up to five years of complimentary ISAKOS membership
  • One complimentary registration to an ISAKOS Congress

This support opens the door to education, research, and global connection that would otherwise be out of reach.

Why Your Support Matters

For Godparent recipients, access to ISAKOS can be career-defining. It allows them to:

  • Learn directly from world-renowned leaders
  • Participate in cutting-edge education and scientific exchange
  • Present research and build professional international networks
  • Bring new techniques and knowledge to their home institutions and communities

The impact extends far beyond any one individual. Each Godparent helps strengthen the global exchange of ideas, elevate standards of care, and expand ISAKOS’s reach into regions where access matters most.

A Commitment to Leadership

Godparents commit to a minimum contribution of USD $5,000, payable over five years, demonstrating sustained leadership and belief in ISAKOS’s mission.
By becoming a Godparent, you:

  • Uphold ISAKOS’s commitment to international collaboration
  • Expand access to education across diverse regions and practice settings
  • Support the development of future leaders in orthopaedic medicine
  • Contribute to a more inclusive and globally connected profession

This is philanthropy rooted in professional pride: supporting colleagues so they, in turn, can better serve patients.

Recognition of Leadership

ISAKOS proudly recognizes the generosity and leadership of its Godparents through:

  • Acknowledgment at the ISAKOS Congress
  • A distinctive Godparent lapel pin
  • An invitation to the Global Connection Reception (or similar)
  • Special recognition during the reception
  • Photo recognition on the ISAKOS website
  • Recognition in the ISAKOS eNewsletter

These honors reflect ISAKOS’s gratitude to those who lead by example and invest in the profession beyond their own practice.

Join the Godparent Program

Becoming a Godparent is one of the most direct ways to support a colleague in need and to live the values of ISAKOS.

Help ensure that promising surgeons—regardless of economic circumstance—can fully participate in our global community.
