The Santy Orthopedic Center opened in January 2006. It is dedicated to sports traumatology and orthopedic surgery. The center was founded under the leadership of Doctors Pierre Chambat and Gilles Walch. In 2012, we were named FIFA Medical Center of Excellence. We warmly welcome fellows from around the globe who seek to benefit from the expertise of our surgeons and the high scientific standards upheld at our institution. Our surgical fellowships cover a diverse range of specialties, including sports knee surgery, knee arthrosis surgery, shoulder surgery, and foot and ankle surgery. Additionally, we offer fellowships in sports medicine, which are further subdivided into lower limb and upper limb specialties.

Role of the fellow with respect to Clinical, Surgical, Research, and other opportunities: Clinical and Surgical: Follow the surgeon in both his consultation practice and during surgical procedures, gaining insights into his methods and patient interactions in the consulting room as well as his techniques and decision-making processes in the operating room. Research: patients assessment, clinical reviews, meeting with statisticians, writing and reviewing articles. Other opportunities: Cadaver labs with with instructors.

Research projects, research facilities and resources, cadaver labs, publication opportunities, integration of the patient and public involvement, and the role of the fellow: With up to 100 Pubmed indexed publication/ year, our center's fellows are intensely involved in research, specially in patients assessment, clinical report reviews, meeting with statisticians, writing and reviewing articles. The cadaver labs are organized by specialty in conjunction in the Arthrex facilities close to Lyon.
