Learning Objectives

Over two days of engaging presentation, discussion, debate and discovery, participants will:

  • Discuss the current selection criteria for patients with knee arthritis that are likely to benefit from Total or unicompartmental knee arthroplasty.
  • Incorporate the new protocols for joint arthroplasty in your practice using strategies for patient selection, peri-operative optimization and post-operative management.
  • Discuss appropriate surgical technique, the concepts of alignment and balancing for performing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, and primary and revision total knee arthroplasty.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic periprosthetic knee complications.
  • Interpret the latest data and recommendations regarding evolving concepts in knee arthroplasty including outpatient surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, and new technologies.

Course Overview

This Instructional Course provides a comprehensive deep dive into Kinematic Alignment (KA), with a specific focus on the calipered KA surgical technique. Faculty will review the foundational principles of Kinematic Alignment and explore how optimal outcomes can be achieved through the combination of surgical technique and implant design.

Through case-based discussions, participants will gain insight into appropriate indications, practical surgical pearls, and common pitfalls. The course features a unique hands-on component, allowing attendees to practice the KA technique in a dedicated sawbones workshop.

Designed to encourage interactive discussion, the course offers direct engagement with world-renowned surgical experts, who will share their experience and perspectives to support participants in confidently adopting Kinematic Alignment in clinical practice.
