New JISAKOS Editor in Chief

ISAKOS and the Journal of ISAKOS are proud to announce that Olufemi R. Ayeni, MD, PhD, FRCSC CANADA has been appointed the new Editor in Chief for the Journal of ISAKOS: Joint Disorders & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (JISAKOS) - the official journal of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Beginning July 1, 2023, Dr. Ayeni will succeed Dr. Niek van Dijk in this role, who has been serving as the JISAKOS Editor in Chief since the journal's inception in 2015.

Dr. Ayeni has been an ISAKOS Member since 2014 and has served on a variety of committees-most recently as Deputy Chair (and soon as Co-Chair) of the ISAKOS Scientific Committee. He also recently completed roles as Deputy Editor in Chief for KSSTA and Scientific Editor for the COA Bulletin, plus has served as a member of the Editorial Board for AJSM and several other prominent journals. His experience has groomed him to take on this new role of JISAKOS Editor in Chief, and he could not be more ready or excited for the challenge. In addition to his journal experience, Dr. Ayeni is a Professor and Academic Division Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University, Canada, and serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Health Research Methodology, Evidence and Impact. He also serves as Medical Director for the Hamilton Tiger Cats (Canadian Football League) and Forge FC (Canadian Premier League).

The leadership of ISAKOS is extremely proud of the Journal of ISAKOS and its growth and accomplishments since the journal's launch. The world-class Editorial Board and team's hard work and dedication has resulted in an authoritative journal that will continue to improve the quality of life for patients with sports injuries around the world.
