The Severance Arthroscopy & Joint Research Institute was established in 2005 to advance minimally invasive joint care through education, research, and collaboration. Recognized as a leading regional center for knee and shoulder arthroscopy, we combine high surgical volume with structured teaching and outcomes-driven research to deliver a pragmatic, skills-focused experience for visiting surgeons. Our faculty includes three knee and two shoulder specialists who provide focused mentorship across sports medicine. Participants observe a broad spectrum of outpatient and operative care—knee ligament reconstruction; meniscal and cartilage restoration; shoulder instability and rotator cuff repair; augmentation and revision surgery—attend regular conferences and case reviews, and join cadaveric skills workshops held twice yearly. Fellows may attend the Institute’s annual arthroscopy symposium and related academic events, and are encouraged to engage in ongoing clinical research and to attend relevant scientific meetings. The program requires a minimum commitment of six months. All activities follow institutional policies; visiting surgeons participate as observers and do not provide direct patient care. Please note that the program does not offer institutional funding.
