After starting Grande International Hospital as a founding director and medical director in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2013, I conducted first arthroscopy congress in 2016 as the first president of Arthroscopy Society of Nepal. I also started fellowship program in Grande Hospital and trained four fellows starting from 2018. I returned to Nepal in 1997 after my medical education and residentship in Hacettepe University in Turkey to change spectrum of orthopedics care and sports injuries treatment methods. One fundamental way is to update myself and also inspire young colleagues in the field of arthroscopy, sports medicine, orthobiologics and joint replacement.
I have now established Anamiwa Health Hospital which is solely dedicated for Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, Orthobiologics and Joint Replacement. We are welcoming fellows from across the world if they wish to get training in our institution. Now, there is a possibility to do more research, academic activities and more teaching as a community of orthopedic sub-specialty. This has not been easy as you have to do research with the limited resources but also have to create an institution. This is truly a challenge but perseverance continues to impart knowledge to perform surgeries with the limited resources.
