The Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship is a unique fully funded position tailored for the talented junior consultant looking to develop their skills in complex reconstructive arthroscopy. It gives a high volume experience of soft tissue knee preservation including primary/revision ACL (all grafts). There is a significant number of Multi-Ligament Knee reconstructions, complex chondral/meniscal procedures as well as osteotomy. For interested fellows, we can organise exposure to shoulder arthroscopic work and to hip arthroscopy/hamstring surgery. The majority of the timetable is based in the public system, and the fellow will be expected to manage their own patients and operate independently in their own Fellow’s theatre lists. Our fellows generally complete 400 cases in 6 months, the vast majority as primary/independent surgeon. There is no on-call. You will work with elite athletes as part of our team coverage of the Fremantle Dockers, West Coast Eagles, Perth Glory, Western Force, WAIS and Hockey Australia. This allows for maximum development of Orthopaedic Skills along with the ability to enjoy the celebrated lifestyle of Perth and its 300 days of sunshine each year. You will experience our idyllic beaches, multiple outdoor activities and surrounding areas including Rottnest Island, the Margaret River Wine and Kimberley Regions of Western Australia.
