The Fellow will be a member of the Division of Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery at the University of Colorado Medical Center with the goal of developing advanced skills in evaluating all aspects of sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. This includes evaluation and treatment of orthopaedic injuries at the CU Sports Medicine Clinic in Boulder and Denver and two training rooms (University of Colorado and the University of Denver). The Fellow performs and assists with a large variety of sports medicine surgical procedures involving the knee, shoulder, elbow, hip, and ankle. This includes open and arthroscopic surgery, ligamentous reconstruction, meniscus repair and transplantation, cartilage grafting, labral repair, capsular plication, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder arthroplasty. The Fellow participates in resident and medical student education, and prepares Grand Rounds and journal club presentations. Also included is game coverage as one of the team physicians for the University of Colorado and the University of Denver varsity teams. Clinical and basic science research is required, with a goal of completing two publishable papers. This program offers equal participation in academic and collegiate environments. This fellowship participates in the San Francisco match.
