Prof Samuel MacDessi is the Chair of Orthopaedics at St George Private Hospital and is a founding partner and Director of Research at Sydney Knee Specialists. Dr MacDessi specialises in knee arthroplasty and knee sports medicine surgery. He has a research interest in evolving techniques in knee arthroplasty surgery and has extensive experience in the field of cartilage restoration surgery, osteotomy and ligament reconstruction. He has multiple publications in the field of knee surgery and is a reviewer and editor for several international orthopaedic journals. His PhD on the interaction between alignment and balance in knee arthroplasty has advanced our understanding of how to execute this common operation with greater precision.
