Support a Colleague in Need and Become an ISAKOS Godparent
The mission of ISAKOS is strengthened when talented surgeons from all regions of the world can fully participate in our global community. Yet many qualified individuals, particularly those early in their careers, face financial limitations that restrict their ability to access membership benefits or attend the ISAKOS Congress.
The ISAKOS Godparent Program was established to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent deserving colleagues from engaging in the educational, research, and networking opportunities essential to professional advancement.
Advancing Access and Opportunity
Through the generosity of ISAKOS Godparents, applicants under the age of 45 who demonstrate financial need may receive up to five years of complimentary membership, as well as one complimentary registration to an ISAKOS Congress. This opportunity allows recipients to:
- Engage with leading experts in orthopaedic sports medicine
- Participate in world-class educational programming
- Present research and collaborate with peers
- Bring new knowledge and techniques back to their home institutions and communities
The impact of this support extends well beyond individual recipients; it strengthens the global orthopaedic community and advances the mission of ISAKOS worldwide.
Why Become an ISAKOS Godparent
Godparents are individuals who commit to a minimum donation of $5,000 to be paid over the course of 5 years and play an instrumental role in fostering equity, inclusion, and professional growth within ISAKOS. Their contributions ensure that promising surgeons, regardless of economic circumstance, have access to the same resources and opportunities as their peers.
Supporting this program:
- Upholds the Society’s commitment to international collaboration
- Expands participation across diverse regions and practice settings
- Ensures the advancement of future leaders in orthopaedic medicine
- Enhances the global exchange of clinical and scientific knowledge
Recognition of Generosity
ISAKOS deeply values the commitment of its Godparents. In recognition of their exceptional support, Godparents receive:
- Acknowledgment at the biennial ISAKOS Congress
- A distinctive lapel pin signifying their role
- An invitation to the Global Connection Reception (or similar event)
- Special recognition during the reception
- Photo recognition on the ISAKOS website
- Recognition in an edition of the ISAKOS eNewsletter
These honors reflect ISAKOS’s appreciation for those who advance the Society’s mission through their philanthropy.
