This pre-course will provide a comprehensive update and overview of the
latest knowledge and techniques relevant to the management of knee pathology
for the orthopaedic surgeon. The course will be suitable for the subspecialist
knee surgeon and also the general orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in knee
surgery, and will cover a diverse collection of topics to provide a clinically
relevant comprehensive summary of current knowledge and latest trends. The topics
will include Primary and Revision ACL Surgery, Management of Patellofemoral
Instability, Meniscal Repair and Meniscectomy, Realignment Osteotomy, and
Management of Chondral Pathology. The day will consist of a series of expert
and evidence-based lectures in the morning, and cadaveric practical
demonstrations in the afternoon. In addition to the lectures there will be
debates and panel discussions, particularly on controversial topics.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint sponsorship of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons (AAOS) and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS).
The AAOS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
