Matthew J. Brick, MBChB, FRACS

Dr Brick is a graduate of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Training Programme in 2002. He was always attracted to Orthopaedic Sports Medicine having competed as a professional triathlete / duathlete / cyclist between 1989 and 1995. He completed fellowship training with Dr Freddie Fu in Pittsburgh in 2003 and was there introduced to hip arthroscopy with Dr Marc Philippon. He also completed a Foot and Ankle fellowship with Dr Mark Myerson and a sports orthopaedic fellowship with Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He started his private practice (Orthosports North Harbour) in 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand. His current case load is 250-300 hip arthroscopies and 100 shoulder arthroscopies per year. He has a prospective database of around 3000 primary and revision hip arthroscopies followed with iHOT-12, NAH and WOMAC scores. Dr Brick is a member of the ISAKOS Hip and Groin Committee. Dr Brick is married to Dr Tracey Giddings who works in the practice focussing on rehabilitation. They have four adult children: Claudia, Grover, Dexter and Wynton.
