CLARA DE CAMPOS AZEVEDO is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Hospital CUF Tejo, and the Head of the Shoulder and Elbow Unit of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of SAMS Hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. She completed her doctor's degree in Medicine in 1999 by the School of Medicine of the Lisbon University, and the Orthopedics and Traumatology residency program in 2008 by the Western Lisbon University Hospital (CHLO) and the Portuguese Medical Association. Was Assistant Professor of Orthopedics from 2009 through 2014 in NOVA Medical School. Is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon since 2017, and was the Head of the Shoulder Surgery Unit of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of CHLO from 2018 trough 2021. She concluded her PhD in Medicine at the School of Medicine of University of Minho in 2022 on the topic "Arthroscopic Superior Capsular Reconstruction (ASCR) with a Minimally Invasive Harvested Fascia Lata Autograft.Clinical Importance of Graft Integrity". Published several articles about shoulder surgery in peer-reviewed national and international journals, has been an invited lecturer and author of several original paper presentations about ASCR, and has presented more than one hundred papers about orthopedics in national and international shoulder meetings and cadaver laboratory courses. Is a member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Shoulder and Elbow Society (SPOC) for the biennium of 2023-24, is Member of the Board of the European Shoulder Associates of the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee surgery and Arthroscopy (ESA–ESSKA) for the biennium of 2022-23, is a member of the Shoulder Committee of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) for the 2021 – 2025 term, has served as reviewer for several journals and as Principal Reviewer of the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM) since 2020, and is on the AJSM Electronic Media Editorial Board (AJSM EMEB) since 2021.
