Summary

All inside reconstruction with hamstring tendons fixed by double buttons is a reliable method for posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Abstract

Object: To discuss the clinical effect of all inside posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with hamstring tendons fixed by double buttons.

Method

18 patients (2014-2016)with posterior cruciate ligament injury were treated with semitendinosus tendon fixed with double buttons. The length of tendon bundle was 60 mm. The diameter of the tendon bundle was 8 ~ 10 mm and the average diameter was 8.55 mm. Using the reversal drill to prepare the corresponding diameter femoral and tibial tunnel, the length of the tunnel was 20 mm. The tendon was first introduced into the joint, then pulled into femoral and tibial tunnel. The upper and lower plate appressed to the bone cortex, respectively pulled the two ends of automatic tightening wire to tighten the tendon bundle.
Result: 18 patients were followed up with stable joint and normal function. According to the evaluation standard of knee joint, 15 cases were excellent, 2 good, and the good rate was 94.4 %. The postoperative mean Lysholm score ( 90.3 ) was compared with preoperative ( 62.3 ), the difference was significant ( p < 0.05 ).

Conclusion

All inside reconstruction with hamstring tendons fixed by double buttons is a reliable method for posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The advantages include less trauma, saving tendon, high tensile strength and avoiding tendon cutting.
