Curative effect of ESWT Combined with UST Treatment for Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective

To Compare the curative effect of ESWT combined with UST，ESWT simply and UST simply for knee osteoarthritis. Method 84 patients with knee osteoarthritis were enrolled，and they were classified into combined group（group A），ESWT simply group（group B）and UST simply group（group C）randomly(28 patients for each group on the average). The curative effect was observed for 4 weeks，with the index of VAS，HSS and WOMAC. Results The scores of VAS，HSS and WOMAC were enhanced before treatment（（P<0.05）.The curative effect of group A was better than group B and group C（（P<0.05）），and there was no significant difference between group B and group C of pain ，HSS and WOMAC. Conclusion The short-term curative effect of ESWT combined UST for knee osteoarthritis was better than simple ESWT，it was worth to promote widely for the reason of non-invasion，convenience and safety.
