Summary

BACKGROUND AIMS: Cartilage defects are considered to be an initial event in the progress of osteoarthritis. The method of microfracture was one of the most commonly used methods in cartilage injury clinical repair, but the long-term effect was uncertain. We do a study to evaluate short-term Clinical Outcomes of Arthroscopic Microfracture Treatment for articular cartilage injuries?

Abstract

METHODS: a total of 12 cases of knee osteoarthritis with cartilage lesions admitted from 2014 october to 2016 june were enrolled and treated with arthroscopic debridement and microfracture ,include 8 female ,4 men ,7 left knee,5 right knee.before surgery and 3,6,12months after surgery,the knee of visual analogue scale, lysholm knee score scale,hss knee score scale,active range of motion were compared.
Results:3,6,12months after surgery, those score have obviously increased than those before surgery: the knee joint function have improved .

Conclusion

arthroscopic microfracture surgery can improve knee function and quality of life.IT is a good chioce to treat articular cartilage injuries as it is cheap and safety.
