Single bundle all-inside PCL reconstruction

Abstract

Purpose:To evaluate the methods and therapeutic effects of arthroscopic,single-Bundle,all-inside posterior cruciate ligament(PCL)reconstruction with remnant preservation.
Method: From october 2015 to march 2016,11 patients received arthroscopic PCL reconstruction by using hamstring tendon autograft fixed with cortical suspension devices with variable loop length, including 7 male and 4 female patients with an average 32.6 years old (16-50 years old) were reconstructed with single bundle,all-inside PCL reconstruction. All the patients were followed up with a mean period of 9.35 months. Each patient was evaluated using the following variables:posterior laxity on KT-2000,Lysholm knee score,International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) knee score and grade.
Results:At the latest follow up,the results of mean side to side differences in posterior tibial translation,Lysholm knee score and IKDC score were (-4.2±1.2) mm,(94.3±10),(95.5±8.8). There were statistical differences of above results between preoperation and postoperation.
Conclusion:Single bundle all-inside PCL reconstruction can provide some advantages such as easy and simple to handle, little trauma and low requirements of hamstring autograft length.
