Summary

In this note, we describe a successful and reproducible all-inside method for repairing the posterior root of the medial meniscus utilizing a posteromedial portal and suture fixation.

Abstract

Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of medial meniscus posterior root (MMPR) tear under arthroscope for repair of MMPR tear.
Methods: Clinical data of 6 patients with MMRR tear from December 2014 to December 2015, who were treated with suture anchor under arthroscopes , was retrospectively analyzed.
Results: The 6 patients were all followed up, and the average follow-up time was one year, and no postoperative complications were reported. The preoperative scores of Lysholm scale and International Knee Documentation Committee were significantly higher than those before the surgery .
Conclusion: The suture anchor under arthroscope for repair of MMPR tear may effectively recover the stability of medial meniscus and prevent the inside interspace degeneration of knee osteoarthritis.
