ISAKOS has worked with the local tourism bureau to provide Congress attendees the opportunity to register for day tours in Rio de Janeiro and in the surrounding cities. All tours include:
  • Transportation to/from official hotels
  • English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking guide
  • Entrance fees if applicable

Football Match

Take this unique opportunity to enjoy the electric atmosphere of a Brazilian football match in Engenhão Stadium. Watch one of the four major clubs in Rio: Flamengo, Vasco, Fluminense and Botafogo at Engenhão Stadium, which is increasingly becoming a tourist attraction in Rio.

Lapa by Night

Lapa is the part of the city where the locals go for dancing and listening to the beats of Brazilian rhythms such as samba, bossa nova, forró and chorinho. You will visit the Rio Scenarium which was considered by the British newspaper, The Guardian, as one of 10 best bars in the world.

Petropolis is the symbol of the 19th century Brazilian monarchy, with its horse-drawn carriages and the houses that belonged to the Emperor Pedro II, barons, counts and viscounts. During the tour you will visit the Imperial Museum, formerly the Emperor´s Summer Residence, which hosts a collection including the 639-diamond Imperial Crown and the Emperor´s furniture.

In addition, you will see the Crystal Palace and the São Pedro de Alcantara Cathedral.

Sugar Loaf

After a picturesque drive along the beaches of Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana the tour will arrive at Sugar Loaf Mountain. There, you will enjoy the ease and comfort of a cable car ride to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, the most commonly recognized and sought after tourist attraction in Rio. Reaching the top is done in two stages; the first car ascends over 700 feet up Urca Hill affording marvelous views of Corcovado Mountain, the Niteroi Bridge and Guanabara Bay. Transferring to a second car then elevates you an additional 1300 feet to the top where spectacular views of Copacabana and other beaches can be admired.

Sugar Loaf Mountain is a timeless attraction which should be taken advantage of by all who visit Rio. The views are gorgeous, the photo opportunities are endless, and most of all the experience is priceless!

Old Rio and Downtown

Rio de Janeiro was the stage for some of the most important events in Brazil's history; events that left monuments, buildings and a cultural heritage, that still stand today. Ilha Grande

Big Island – Welcome To Paradise!
The tour will first stop at the town of Conceição de Jacareí where the group will board a Saveiro boat and head to Ilha Grande. Where we will stop to have lunch, swim and dive, with the opportunity to rent equipment. Here, you will see the beaches of Lagoa Azul, Freguesia de Santana, Saco do Céu, Praia dos Amores, and Abraão.

Jeep Tours

Botanic Garden And Tijuca Forest
The first part of the tour will bring you to the Botanical Gardens which was created by D. João VI in 1817 for the cultivation of exotic plants. During the second part of the tour animals such as monkeys, sloths and birds of the Brazilian fauna are usually seen. The tour will stop at the viewpoint of the Chinese Pavilion, where you can see the shores of Ipanema and Copacabana, the Guanabara Bay and Niteroi.

Renowned worldwide for its natural beauty, the city of Rio de Janeiro is the perfect place to take advantage of a scenic flight by helicopter. Itineraries are offered that range from 6 to 60 minutes. From the helicopter you can see details of Christ the Redeemer that are otherwise hidden by distance such as the beauty of its craftsmanship and finish, as well as, the perfect integration with the majesty of the Corcovado. A longer flight will take you above the green lung of the city, Tijuca National Park, and over the most famous neighborhood in Rio, Barra da Tijuca.
