Dr. Stetson is from Los Angeles, California and is an orthopaedic surgeon who is double board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He has been the Olympic and National Team Doctor for the USA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Volleyball Teams since 2006. He is a sports medicine, arthroscopy and trauma specialist with an expertise in the surgical reconstruction of complex shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle injuries. He has over 25 years of teaching experience as a volunteer professor of orthopaedic surgery at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center where he teaches the residents orthopaedic surgery and arthroscopy. He graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with honors (Phi Beta Kappa, Student Athlete of the Year and Two Time NCAA All-American Volleyball Player) and also from the USC Keck School of Medicine with honors. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center where he had extensive experience in trauma and reconstructive surgery. He then did a one year fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy where he trained under the leaders in arthroscopic surgery at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI). In 2007 Dr. Stetson received the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award given to only 6 former NCAA student-athletes every year who have gone on to distinguish themselves in their respective non-athletic careers 25 years after graduation. He has traveled all over the world teaching other surgeons arthroscopic surgery and founded his own non-profit Operation Arthroscopy (www.operationarthroscopy.org) whose mission is to bring orthopaedic surgery and arthroscopy to those in need. He is also the CEO and Founder of SurgTime (www.surgtime.com), a telesurgery and telementoring platform whose mission is to is to standardize surgical excellence domestically and globally by expanding and enhancing access to real-time surgical education and mentoring where the surgeon needs it the most, in the operating room.
